About Us – Meet Your Hosts
We are Marc and Astrid, and since 2012 we have been the proud owners of Fermette en France.
We have always dreamed of having a home in France. Perhaps you can relate: spending holidays browsing estate agent windows, wondering — could our dream home be here? In early 2012, we were finally able to make this dream come true.
From Dream Home to Reality
We bought this old, small farmhouse as a holiday home for ourselves. Initially, we weren’t sure what the future would hold, perhaps welcoming guests or hosting workshops, but one thing was certain: we wanted a house in a quiet village, ready to move in without years of renovations, and within a day’s drive from the Netherlands.
Finding Our Home
Through a local estate agent, we discovered this house with barns and a large plot of land. The search took some time,
this was actually the 14th house we visited! After buying it, we tried to visit as often as possible.
Every time, we enjoyed the peace and natural surroundings.
Following a change in our lives in the Netherlands, we decided to make our dream a reality and settle in France.
From Farmhouse to Holiday Home
We converted one of the barns into our own living space. The main house is now a cozy gîte for our guests.
What We Love to Do?

Astrid loves walking with our dogs and enjoys a long walk every day. She is also an enthusiastic amateur photographer, always ready to explore with her camera.
Her hammock is her favorite spot. In summer, you can often find her there on our “hill” for a siesta, reading, or even catching up on administration with her laptop. For our guests, there is also a hammock ready on the courtyard.
We live here together with our dogs, cats, chickens, and a rooster. The exact mix changes from time to time.
